QUETTA - At least six militants were killed and five others injured in encounters with the security forces in Dera Bugti and Jaffarabad districts on Monday. According to reports received here, when some armed militants attacked check posts of the security forces in Sui area of Dera Bugti and Toba Somarani area of Jaffarabad, the security forces retaliated, resulting in death of six attackers. Five other militants sustained injuries. As per reports, the encounter lasted for several hours. However, the death toll of militants could not be confirmed from independent sources. Some sources stated that seven security forces personnel were also injured. But this assertion could not be confirmed officially. Sarbaz Baloch, a spokesman of Baloch Republican Army, claimed that clashes between militants and security forces also erupted in Ghori and Zen Koh area of Dera Bugti. He maintained that 18 men of the security forces were killed in these areas but officially this claim was rejected. APP adds: Nasirabad police backed by other law enforcing agencies and armed tribal groups have launched search operation in Pulaijhi area of Chethar for safe recovery of 24 abductees kidnapped by the criminal groups.  According to police sources, the kidnappers vacated their positions and fled amid exchange of fire at Pulaijhi hills on several points. On Sunday night, three abductees escaped from captivity and informed the tribal elders about the positions of the kidnappers.
