PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that the enemies of democracy are spreading rumours about his death.   "Thank God I am alright," Zardari told a private TV channel while reacting to rumours about his death. He said that the elements which assassinated Benazir Bhutto were behind such rumours. He blamed anti-democratic forces for spreading such rumours, saying life was in God Almighty's hand, and he was not afraid of any eventuality.     Prior to this, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Karachi were caught in a grip of panic after rumors about a possible attack on Asif Ali Zardari. Angry mobs spilled into streets and resorted to aerial firing in a bid to force closure of shops, while the administration called Rangers and other security agencies to control the situation. Meanwhile, PPP leader Jamil Soomro apppealed people to remain calm and did not pay heed to such baseless and fabricated rumours, aimed at creating panic and riots in cities. He said that Asif Ali Zardari was well and alive, meeting various delegations at his Zardari residence in Islamabad.
