Karachi (PPI) - Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri has said that those people always face troubles who speak truth, adding Pakistani journalists and media men have suffered torture and punished for speaking truth but never compromised on principles. She was addressing the oath taking ceremony of the officials of Union of a local English newspapers here on Monday evening at a hotel. Shazia Marri said that housing schemes for poor have been started in different districts of Sindh including. Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and Kotri. She said the previous governments of Pakistan Peoples Party had given housing schemes for journalists. She said that Sindh government has provided Rs10mn for financial aid of needy journalists and development of press clubs. The minister expressed grief over lack of facilities for journalist, adding she would raise the problem with Chief Minister of Sindh for its solution. She further said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is taking especial interest in wage board award matter. She said that the present government has provided a conducive environment, and journalists and media are performing their duties without any fear. Federal Minister for Housing Rehmatullah Kakar was also present.
