LAHORE - The Pakistan Cricket Board's chief operating officer Saleem Altaf is likely to be among those whom the PCB wants to replace amid growing criticism of team's (and the management's) poor performance. Reports said that the former Test player Saleem Altaf was also aware of such a possibility. "Yes it is true that Butt will ask the Governing council members to change the COO in Karachi," an official avoiding to give his name said. He said relations between Butt and Altaf have soured in recent days. When contacted, Altaf said what he knew was that Butt wanted to replace him as COO. "If the governing council members want to do this I have no objections," Altaf said. Sources disclosed Altaf had started efforts to save his position. Butt, on the other hand, played down the issue claiming he was not aware of any such move to remove Altaf. "I don't know. You should ask the director HR, he would know," Butt said.
