LAHORE - Commander Lahore Corps, Lieutenant General Rashad Mahmood has said that education plays a vital role in the progress and prosperity of country and academic institutions provide basis for nurturing an enlightened and progressive socio-cultural order. He was addressing a High Achiever Award Ceremony of Federal Government (FG) Schools of Lahore region here Wednesday, says a press release. Corps Commander Rashad Mahmood said students attaining distinction due to hard work were not only a valued asset, but pride of the country. He expressed his satisfaction over the fact that FG Schools were making remarkable contributions in the field of education. He urged the high achievers to work diligently and aspire for higher ideals, as there was no substitute for hard work in achieving glory and respect in society. He said competition and merit were bedrock of progress and the students should strive hard to attain distinction in the competitive environment. He advised the students to work whole-heartedly as the future of their country was linked to their devotion and hard work. He eulogised the efforts of teaching faculty for attaining a marvellous result in the Board of Secondary Education and emphasised on greater zeal and dedication in the performance of their duties.
