KARACHI The Central Reut-e-Hilal Committee on Wednesday announced that Ramazan moon has been sighted in Karachi and other parts of the country and Thursday (today) will be the first day of the holy month of Ramazan. The Committee meeting was held at Met Office in Karachi. Addressing a news conference, Chairman Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Mufti Munibur Rehman, who presided over the meeting, said that the crescent of the holy month of Ramazan was sighted in various areas of Pakistan, and fasting will begin from Thursday (today). He said the Committee had ensured that false evidence was not included in deriving the results. He appealed to the people to donate generously for supporting the flood-affected people. The Met Department official said that the moon was visible in several parts of the country especially in Sindh and Balochistan.
