KARACHI- Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh announced Thursday to support the strike call the Sindh nationalist parties have given on August 13 against the implementation of local government system in the province. Addressing a press conference at his residence Mardan House, ANP Sindh President Shahi Syed said that the restoration of the local government was the condemnable act of the Sindh government and it had violated the resolution of its own assembly backing the Commissionerate system. He vowed that his party would not allow any conspiracy against Sindh province which had provided jobs and employment to Pukhtoons. He said that the Save Sindh movement leaders had met with ANP leaders on Wednesday to get party's support in connection with their shutter down strike scheduled on August 13. He said that ANP office bearers have decided to back the strike call. He also made an appeal to the people of Sindh to foil the conspiracy being hatched against unity of the province. He appealed to the PPP's legislators in both National and Sindh assemblies to play their role for the restoration of the Commissionerate system and reinstate the former status of Karachi and Hyderabad.
