OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Commenting on Corps Commanders review of the military operations in tribal areas and concerns over Karachi situation, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan has said the military high ups should inform the nation about results of previous adventures and war on terror. In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said the role of front line ally of the US in war on terror has put independence and sovereignty of the country at stake. Thousands of citizens besides military men had lost their lives in this war. But all Pakistan had gained in return was disturbances, poverty, hunger, heavy debt and disrepute in the world. The parliament, Munawar Hasan said, had adopted two resolutions on this situation which were however never implemented. He said the use of force and military operations had never helped solve issues. Instead, it made things more complicated, he added. The wise course, therefore, would be to end military operations and invite stake holders at negotiation table, he said. Opposing military operation in Karachi, he said any such exercise would further complicate the situation and lead towards separation and hatred for the country.
