OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Thursday announced a lucrative cash prize of Rs three million for the Pakistan U16 team for winning the SAFF championship in Katmandu. "President PFF Faisal Saleh Hayat is very delighted on the showing of the team in the event in which they beat India in the final to lift their first ever SAFF Under-16 title," said PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi. He termed the victory historic and meaningful for Pakistan football and said the young guns did a wonderful job for the country. "This victory will open a new era in Pakistan football. We are confident that young players will continue doing hard work to build on this success, added Lodhi. He said the PFF requested the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers of all the provinces and private business houses to encourage young team by announcing cash incentives to acknowledge their great achievement. Meanwhile, Pakistan victorious team accorded warm welcome on their arrival at Karachi Airport on Thursday (afternoon). The team will reach Lahore on Friday (today) and will be welcomed by the Pakistan Football Federation officials.
