NANKANA SAHIB - Two women were reportedly shot dead over a dispute of ownership right of an agricultural piece of land on Thursday in village Thatha Khokharan. Victims Allah Mafi and Kiran were alone at home when Shahid, Boota and their two unidentified accomplices stormed into their house. They bashed and abused both the girls and warned them of dire consequences for demanding ownership of the agriculture land. Later, the accused opened fire on them. Resultantly, they died on the spot. In separate incident, Muhammad Azam, Zahid Imran, Ijaz, Haider and Ghafar reportedly burnt a hand of Muhammad Asif, a resident of Suhrab Kalan, over a petty dispute. FUMIGATION: Fumigation campaign to prevent dengue fever already been carried out in the urban areas of the district including Ramazan bazaars. The ongoing spray drive in schools would be completed next month, the TMOs of Nankana, Shah Kot & Sangla Hill said while informing a meeting attended by the DCO. On the occasion, EDO (Health) Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shad informed the participants regarding symptoms, indications, and safety methods from dengy fever and benefits of spray. BAZAAR VISITED: Cheap, standard essential commodities are being provided for the masses in Sasta Ramazan bazaars in the district, the assistant commissioner claimed during his visit to Nankana City bazaar. She said all the arrangements had been taken to sell the essential commodities at controlled prices so that people must get relief during the holy month. She said on the instructions of the chief minister, separate counter for senior citizens had been established during Ramazan bazaars. Different quality and price control teams were monitoring the items being sold in these bazaars.
