QUETTA - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s (JUI-F) parliamentary leader in Balochistan Assembly Maulana Abdul Wasay has said he has no expectations from special committee of the Federal government on Balochistan.
Talking to media persons after Federal Cabinet Committee meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Saturday, Abdul Wasay who is also senior provincial minister, said they were politicians and would certainly take part in any dialogue process. “However,” he said, “We have no hope from the Federal Cabinet’s special committee that it would solve the issue of Balochistan in a short period”.
“Without accepting the constitutional rights of Balochistan its issue can’t be resolved” he added.
JUI leader lamented that Balochistan was deprived of its rights saying until and unless people were assured their rights which were guaranteed by 1973 Constitution. He regretted that Balochistan hardly shared 10 per cent of the federal PSDP. He said in the prevailing scenario how could the Baloch problem could be sold.
He said power shortage was an important issue of Balochistan, and added that most of the people were deprived of electricity and gas in the province while the federal government had also withdrew subsidy on electricity to the agriculture tube-wells in the province.
