PPP govt serious to resolve Balochistan issue: Qamar

Defence Minister and Chairman Cabinet special committee on Balochistan, Syed Naveed Qamar on Saturday said that the PPP-led government is serious to address the Balochistan issue and the committee would coordinate with all stakeholders in this regard. Addressing press conference after holding meeting with the political leaders, traders, representatives of several organizations, lawyers and others at Chief Minister Secretariat, he stressed the need for better coordination among the federal and provincial government to bring a positive change in Balochistan situation. The minister said that the PPP-led government had started to resolve issues of Balochistan when it came into power. It is continued and would remain, he added. The government initiated several steps to end sense of deprivation among people of Balochistan and particularly it announced Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan package to achieve this purpose, however, “we admit that there were some flaws and it would not implemented completely.” Today we are met here to find the solution of issue as Balochistan is the most important part of the country and everyone who is living here has equal rights here, the minister added. Syed Naveed Qamar informed that during the meeting there were several points upon which all institutions were agree and differences on several issues were also found. He said issues of Balochistan are very complicated but would hopefully be resolved in due course of time as present government has the will to address all these issues. To a question, he said that all institutions including security agencies are also part of consultation to resolve the issues of Balochistan and we cannot ignore the role of army in this regard. The meeting was attended by its members federal ministers for Information & Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Farooq H. Naek, Federal Minister for Postal Services, Sardar Al-Haj Muhammad Umar Gorgeij and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changaiz Jamal
