LAHORE – The weather turned pleasant after the City received heavy rain with thunderstorm on Saturday morning while the Pakistan Meteorological Department has also forecast rain on Sunday (today).
Rain was heavy in some parts of the City and gusty winds kept the temperature tolerable, while the showers inundated many low-lying areas. The Lahorites living in these areas suffered because water had accumulated knee-deep on the roads and streets, and hundreds of houses were submerged in overflowing rain mixed with gutter water.
“The new spell of monsoon rains has begun in Lahore and other cities of Punjab and it is expected to last for the next three days. Saturday’s rain was the third biggest downpour in the City in this monsoon season,” said an official of the Met office.
