LAHORE - Different sports in connection with the Independence Day were held across the Punjab province on Monday under the aegis of Sports Board Punjab (SBP). Hundreds of players and citizens took part in different sports events in all the districts and tehsils of the province. In Bahawalpur, Sultan Club beat Abbas Club in a mud-wrestling match held at Kot Nora. The title of table tennis went to BWP (C) which defeated APE. As many as four inter-club events were staged in Bahawalnagar district. City Badminton Club toppled Malaa Club in the final of Inter-Club Badminton Tournament. Jatt XI was declared winners in the Inter-Club Cricket match against Fort XI. Moon Hockey Club clinched the Inter-Club Hockey tile against Chilli Club while the Inter-Club Kabaddi match was won by Rashid XI against Shahzeb XI. –Staff Reporter
