ISLAMABAD - Pakistan military has reaffirmed its resolve to counter all threats to the county in a befitting manner.

This resolve came from the top military leadership at the quarterly review meeting of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) held on Tuesday.

Chaired by General Rashad Mahmood, the meeting held at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi expressed satisfaction over the standard of preparedness of armed forces.

According to an ISPR press statement, the meeting appreciated the steps taken against the menace of terrorism and reviewed the progress made in the ongoing operations against terrorists.

It said that issues pertaining to national security, emerging regional geo-strategic environment and joint military education and training were also dilated upon by the forum. Participants also appreciated the rescue and relief operations carried out by armed forces in different parts of the country during the recent floods.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Admiral, Chief of Naval Staff Muhammad Zakaullah, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, chief of air staff, secretary defence and senior military officers from the three services.

The JCSC is a quarterly meeting of senior military leaders to carry out the assessment and evaluation of operational preparedness of all three services especially in the context of articulation within the armed forces.
