Federal Minister for Industries & Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi has said that the few Chinese companies have shown interest in the privatization of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) and the government would complete the process by November.

“The government is in talks with different Chinese companies with regards to the privatization of PSM. We would hopefully complete this task of privatization of the mill by November,” said Jatoi while talking to media at the inauguration of the 6th edition of Industrial Electrical and Electronic Exhibition of Pakistan (IEEEP Fair) here at Expo Centre on Tuesday.

Jatoi added that the present democratic government believes in the promotion of trade at international level, while the Ministry for Industries & Production is making efforts to flourish and facilitate different industries to strengthen the human resource, economy and businesses of Pakistan.

‘Karachi is the biggest city of Pakistan and it is also the financial hub of the country. It is a matter of pleasure to be part of this trade exhibition which is providing an opportunity to electrical and electronic related industries to showcase their products and services,’ said Jatoi.

The minister was of the view that the present century is the century of industry and technology, so those who lag behind in the use of technology will not be able to make progress in any field. ‘Thsese kind of fairs would not only harvest opportunities of employment but they also create awareness regarding the use of electronic and electrical goods, besides prospects of trade contracts,’ stressed Jatoi.

He congratulated the organizer and event manager, Badar Expo Solutions, for holding this mega event. Later, he visited different halls and stalls along with Chairman IEEEP Engr. Asif Siddiqui, Vice Chairman IEEEP Navid Ansari, and COO Badar Expo Zohair Naseer. He appreciated the exhibitors. It is to be noted that more than 90 local and international companies are participating in this 3-day IEEEP Fair.
