Gang of doctors, nurses kidnapping children from Peshawar arrested

A gang of doctors and nurses involved in kidnapping children from Peshawar has been arrested, reported Waqt News.

The group comprises of about 20 people from which 9 have been arrested. All of them are doctors and nurses. They belong to private and government hospitals. In their statement to the police they disclosed that they use to freeze dead children and then when a healthy baby was born in the hospital, it would be replaced with the frozen dead child. 9 such replacements were made.

The other members of the gang are yet to be arrested and they too are from the same field.

In the last two months there has been an alarming increase in kidnapping cases across Pakistan especially Lahore. This is the first gang that has been arrested and the details have been disclosed. Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif has also taken notice of the kidnappings in the province.
