Lahore - The Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has announced to hold the 16th International Textile Asia Exhibition in Lahore in collaboration with Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan.

PRGMEA Chief Coordinator Ijaz Khokhar said the three-day mega event was being held from August 27 to 29, 2016 at the Lahore Expo Centre.

“PRGMEA is taking steps to boost exports of the value-added sector by bringing latest garment technology at people’s doorstep and this activity is being done to facilitate the exporters of Faisalabad, Multan as well as Sialkot,” he informed.

The event will provide an effective platform to the textile sector’s SMEs to initiate joint ventures, 80 percent of which are located in Punjab, having no financial capacity to showcase their potential at international exhibitions.

PRGMEA Senior Vice Chairman Sohail A Sheikh observed that the local textile sector’s whole chain had also been invited to the country’s largest textile show. “The exhibiting countries include Austria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, USA etc. The Management of Apparel has also been invited to participate in the fair,” he added.

Sheikh said the International Textile Asia Trade Show is one of the most fruitful events being held successively for the last 15 years.

The Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan President Dr Khursheed Nizam said that the international Textile & Garment Machinery Show is the only UFI (Paris) approved event in South Asia, which provides enormous opportunities of learning, information sharing, mutual cooperation and combined projects to all the stakeholders in the most profitable sector of Textile in Asia.
