Peaceful Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that peaceful Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan and Pakistan wants peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa spoke to the ambassadors of Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and France to discuss regional security issues today.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Germany's Ambassador Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck, Italy's Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese, Netherlands' Ambassador Willem Wouter Plomp, and France's acting Ambassador Yves Manville met the COAS at the General Headquarters.

Gen Bajwa said that Pakistan has no favorites in the Afghan conflict, Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the European Union, he added.

“We want to enhance cooperation with the EU in various fields of mutual interest,” the army chief said.

The ambassadors appreciated Pakistan's role in promoting peace in the region.
