Several national and international days are observed in Pakistan to commemorate different occasions or issues. On December 9, the Anti-Corruption Day was observed in the country in order to highlight and condemn the ever-increasing corruption rampant in every walk of life. The elite of the country (both ruling and opposition) has no other agenda but to mint money and inflate their already overfilled bank accounts. The track record of all rulers, past and present, is the same in this regard. They are all bloodthirsty hounds that have no mercy for the masses and are ever ready to suck the blood of the poor to quench their insatiable greed. I am quite sure observance of yet another day, no matter with what fanfare it is celebrated by a few in the society would be as futile as it has always been. -MICHAEL KAROLUS, Lahore, December 12.
