LAHORE A constitutional petition has been moved in the Lahore High Court to question the alleged refusal by the Pakistan Government to an offer made by the Chinese government to supply electricity a much cheaper rates. The petition has been filed by Ilmuddin Ghazi advocate contending that the Chinese government had offered Pakistan power supply at Rs 500 per house and Rs 5000 per industrial unit per month which the later refused to accept. He said the alleged refusal has been made in a situation when the country is suffering badly economic and social wise due to acute power shortage and long hours of load-shedding. He has prayed to the court to take note of the matter and require the government to show reason why it made the alleged refusal.
