LAHORE - The corrupt and dishonest elements in the governments should be held accountable. The sugar mafia has always been part of the government therefore nobody can take strict action against them. The construction of Kalabagh dam is the only solution of energy crisis in Pakistan and President Asif Ali Zardari has the potential to develop consensus among the people on this issue. PPP-leader and Provincial Minister Muhammad Ashraf Sohna and PML-N leader MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmed expressed these views while speaking at the Waqt News talk-show programme Bar Waqt. Salman Ghani was the host of the programme. Provincial Minister Muhammad Ashraf Sohna said that all the sugar mills owners including those who belong to PPP, PML-N, and PML-Q are responsible for sugar crisis in the country. He said that the sugar mafia plundered billion of rupees from the pockets of the people. He further said that the United Sates wanted to make Pakistan a leaderless country and therefore PPP-leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was removed from the political scene. He said that it is very unfortunate that political activists dont speak truth before the party leadership and even support their wrong policies. Speaking on this occasion, MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmed termed the construction of Kalabagh dam a national need and said that it is vital for the economy of the country. He also said that President Asif Ali Zardari has emerged as civilian despot who is following the policies of former dictator Prevez Musharraf. He said that the PPP takes dictation from the Americans as the American Ambassador is forcing the political parties to implement Reformed GST in the country. He claimed that there was no corruption scandal in Punjab while the federal government is facing a string of mega corruption scandals.
