ISLAMABAD - Bahawalpur were in deep waters against Rawalpindi and praying for rain to avoid defeat against Rawalpindi in the Inter Region/Departments pool A match of triangular stage in the U-19 Tournament 2012-2013  here at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Bahawalpur had lost 5 wickets in their second outings for just 24 runs against Rawalpindi Region as Abid Hasan ripped through their batting with the figure of 4 for 5 runs. Bahawalpur still need 124 runs to avoid innings defeat. Earlier Rawalpindi Region started their first innings at the overnight total of 177/3 in 51 overs and declared their innings at 231/7 in 62.3 overs. Sheraz Latif remained their top scorer with 61, Abdul Rehman took 3 for 52, while Nauman Akram chipped in with 2/71.

Earlier put into bat first, Bahawalpur were bowled out for 83 runs in their first innings with Rafay Ahmed (32) made good contribution. Touseeq Shah took 4/12 while Abid Hasan got 3/27 and Adil Shabbir grabbed 2/12.

In another Pool B match played at Diamond cricket ground. Sialkot were struggling at 107/7 in 54 overs against ZTBL. Faisal Javed was unbeaten at 31. Irfan Ullah and Zafar Gohar got 3 wickets each for 26 and 30 runs respectively. Earlier ZTBL declared their first innings at the overnight total of 258/9 in 83 overs, Ibrar Hussain was top scorer with 44 and Matiullah unbeaten at 37. Osama Mir and Ahmed Butt picked up 3 wickets each giving away 37 and 70 runs respectively.
