LAHORE – On the directions of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen the citizen feedback cell contacted 1842 citizens after they called at police emergency service (Rescue-15) during the month of November.

Officials say the feedback cell regularly contacts the callers after they report any crime incident or accident to the police to confirm whether the local police took timely action as per law to help the victims.

According to an official handout, the citizen feed back cell headed by SSP Internal Accountability Division Shariq Kamal contacted 1842 citizens out of which 1775 persons showed their satisfaction over the police action while the other citizen complained to the feedback cell that either the police were using delaying tactics in registration of the cases or they applied wrong sections of law in the FIRs.  Taking action on the complaint of the various citizens, the SSP issued show cause notices to eight SHOs of different police stations.

The police officers including SHO lower Mall Inspector Sajjad Goraia, New Anar Kali Inspetor Ahmad Raza, Nulakha Inspector Muhammad Javid, Harbanspura Inspector Rashid Amin, Bhati Gate SI Tariq Bashir, Rang Mahil Inspector Asim Rafi, Lori Adda SI Arshad Mehmood and SHO Ghaziabad SI Muhammad Ramazan were asked to submit their relies in person as they were accused of using delaying tactic in the registration of cases and applying wrong section of the law in the FIRs.

According to a police spokesman, SSP Shariq Kamal has warned the policemen that strict disciplinary would be initiated against the station house officers (SHOs), found involved in using delaying tactics in the registration of cases. The SSP also said that the policemen would have to face the music if they would apply wrong sections of the law in the FIRs to change the nature of the crime incident.
