Tsunami brings havoc, says Daultana

MULTAN - Central Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Tehmina Daultana said that her party was not opposed to new provinces on administrative grounds.
Talking to journalists here at airport on Tuesday, the PML-N leader asserted that her party was not against creation of new province but it wanted provinces purely on administrative ground. She also advocated formation of a commission on the pattern of one made in India for creations of new provinces. She stressed that the government should announced caretaker government as it was the right time for such decision.
Tehmina criticised the incumbent government, saying that the corrupt rulers had ruined Pakistan International Airline. She claimed that people felt sacred while travelling in the national flag-carrier.
She observed that Kalabagh dam was need of Pakistan as it was facing severe electricity crisis. She claimed that the PML-N alone had capacity to end different crises and put the country on the path to progress and prosperity.
Tehmina Daultana also criticised the PTI and stated that Tsunami always bring destructions. She also showered the Punjab government with praise and claimed that it had ensured record development across the province. She stated that the Punjab government always adopted merit policy to facilitate public.
CLEAN-UP DRIVE CONTINUES: DCO Nasim Sadique said that the operation against encroachments was continued briskly to beautify the city.
In a statement issued here, the DCO said that the affected families would be provided substitute place. He remarked that the Punjab government had imposed a ban on wall-chalking, fireworks and burning of tyres and also recommended strict action against violators.
He was presiding a meeting at DCO office which was also attended DOC Nousheen Jamshaid, TMOs and other officers. The DCO observed that he could not resolve city’s problem overnight. He, however, added that operation against the encroachments and land mafia would continue and nobody would be allowed to create hindrance in this connection.
On the occasion, the DCO also gave hearing to public complaints and issued certain orders their resolution.
Need to promote trade ties with Nigeria: Pakistani High Commissioner in Nigeria Lt-Gen (r) Ashraf Saleem urged the businessmen community to focus on the promotion of joint-ventures and business ties with Nigeria to tap the great trading potential of the friendly country. Talking to Multan Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (MCCI) President Mohammad Khan Sadozai, the HC stated that Nigeria could prove an attractive market for Pakistani businessmen. He informed that there was huge potential for export of rice, mango, handmade items, textile products, motorcycle rickshaws, Blue Pots, Carpets, Surgical items and others.
He added that gas reservoirs were in abundant in Nigeria and Pakistan businessmen could earn a lot by investing in the sector under joint venture.
Lt-Gen (r) Ashraf Saleem disclosed that Pakistan enjoyed great respect and honour amongst Nigerians and a good number of Muslims lived in the country. The HC wished that Pakistani businessmen should export juices and fruits to Nigeria. The exchange of business delegations will surely help improve ties between the both countries. He informed that he was collecting samples of different commodities to introduce these in Nigeria. He informed that there would managerial meeting in March-April in Nigeria in which bank sector and airlines linkages would be enhanced between the both countries.
Nigeria is an emerging market and Pakistani business community should take interest in the market, he stated and added that India had exported one lakh motorcycle rickshaws to Nigeria and getting trade benefits. He urged Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to focus on market of Nigeria. He informed that there were no security problems.
On the occasion, noted businessmen Khawaja Mohammad Hussain, Haseeb Khan and others were also present.
