PESHAWAR - Spokesperson and Media Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shiraz Paracha, has said that pessimism is prevailing in our society and therefore, futuristic thinking and optimism must be inculcated among young generation through education so that they could be given a hope of better future.

He expressed these views while addressing an annual speech competition at Frontier Model School Peshawar on Wednesday. Khwaja Yawar Naseer, MD of the school, was also present on this occasion. While stressing the need for promoting the habit of critical thinking in the students, Paracha said that teachers should teach the students according to the modern and scientific methodologies rather the out-dated and traditional ways of pedagogy.

Touching upon the measures of the present provincial government taken for the promotion and strengthening of education sector, he said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, the provincial government was taking effective and result-oriented measures to realign the existing outdated system of education according to the needs of contemporary era, adding that rudimentary reforms were being introduced to replace the existing system of education with a new and uniform one which would help bridge the increasing gap between the rich and the poor in the society.

He said that the Chief Minister attached great importance to education and took personal interest to uplift the education sector and as such has issued necessary directives to the quarters concerned to make up date the deficiencies in the public sector schools including staff, and other requirements and to introduce uniform system of education in the province which would yield positive results very soon.
