LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has given his full assurances that foolproof security arrangements will be ensured in the whole province on Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of the holy Prophet (PBUH) who was martyred in Karbala.

Issuing instructions for the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, the chief minister said that administration and police should ensure implementation of the security plan evolved for the purpose. He ordered the authorities to set up four-tier cordon for the protection of mourning processions, adding that all the activities should be monitored through CCTV cameras.

Shahbaz Sharif also stressed on the promotion of religious harmony and brotherhood.

“Cases should be registered against the elements distributing material promoting religious hatred. Such literature must be confiscated and those elements must be dealt indiscriminately,” the CM ordered.

He further directed that strict implementation of the ban on loudspeakers be ensured and legal action be taken against the violators. He said that a watchful eye be kept on miscreants.
