ISLAMABAD - The ongoing political unrest seems to go on as the Pakistan Awami Tehreek too is aiming high for its rendezvous protest on December 17.
The PAT leaders have stated that their protest on December 17 will force the government to surrender. They vowed not to surrender their demands of justice against the culprits of Model Town incident. They rejected the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) established by the government and said the party was not taken on board in this connection. The party is of the view that it will not accept findings of the JIT team, whatsoever those will be, until and unless the government includes the names in the investigation team proposed by the PAT.
The party is rigorously pursuing the case of 14 people who were killed in a police clash in Model Town. Presently there is nothing more important for the PAT than seeking justice for the Model Town victims. The government on the other side is using different techniques to delay the issue and nobody knows why the rulers are denying including in the JIT the names proposed by the PAT leadership.
The PAT had staged a 70-day long sit-in against the government outside the Parliament. All the political parties backed the PAT demand of seeking justice in connection with the Model Town tragedy.
