LAHORE - The Government College University students and faculty members have donated 207 pints of blood for children suffering from thalassemia at a two-day camp organised by the university’s Blood Donor Society (GCU BDS) and Fatimid Foundation at the university’s Faiz Seminar Hall. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleequr Rahman visited the camp and appreciated the efforts of GCU BDS. Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor called upon the organisers to ensure that the blood was transfused to the thalassemia patients after proper screening as per the best medical standards.

He also urged the Fatimid Foundation to provide the donors reports of their blood tests. Talking to students, the vice chancellor also highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in protecting precious human lives. He also lauded the donation of blood by the faculty members.

The VC visited the Blood Donation Camp organised jointly by the university’s Blood Donor Society (GCU BDS) and Fatimid Foundation at GCU Faiz Seminar Hall.
