ISLAMABAD- PTI Chairman Imran Khan today said, his party opted to countrywide protests only to pressurize the ruling PML-N, to meet their demand for justice and vote audit and hoped that their protest in Karachi would remain peaceful.
“I never wanted to shutdown cities. I again apologize to citizens for the difficulties they face but we had no other option,” he said, while talking to media before his departure to Karachi, where his party has given a call for shutdown today.
He said that hopefully situation would remain peaceful in Karachi, as his workers blocked all main arteries of the city to stage their sit-ins. Khan warned that if the government tried to create the same situation as they did in Faisalabad, his party would fight back.
“We are not a mummy-daddy or burger party anymore,” he said, adding they want to record peaceful protest against vote rigging.
