/AgenciesVEHARI/SHUJABAD/KASUR-At least 13 persons including six of the same family and a woman were killed in road accidents occurred due to dense fog in different areas here on Sunday.
In Shujabad, six persons of the same family including two brothers, died when their car plunged into a canal here due to low visibility late the other night. The police and rescue confirmed that the family was on the way from Multan to Shujabad. The rescuers fished out the dead bodies from the canal and shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
In Vehari, two motorcyclists were killed when a tractor-trolley hit the bike head-on. The police said that the accident occurred due to dense fog.
In Sheikhupura, an ASI of the police was killed and two constables and driver sustained critical injuries in a road accident near Farooqabad on Sunday. ASI Saddique along with two constables - Farooq and Rasheed were going to Farooqabad in a police van to arrest a culprit. As they reached near Jhamke, a speeding dumper, coming from the opposite direction, collided with the police van. As a result ASI Saddique died on the spot while both the constables and driver got critical injuries. The ASI and injured cops were posted at Lahore Islampura Police Station.
In Kasur, four persons including a woman were killed in separate road accidents here the other day.
According to police, three persons including a woman were crushed to death in collision between a bike and truck near Sajuwal Railway crossing.
According to police, Abdul Razzaq, a resident of Chak 65 Pakpattan, was on the way back home along with his parents on a motorbike. As he reached near Sajuwal Railway crossing, a speeding truck collided with the bike head-on, killing all of them on the spot. The Pattoki Saddr Police are investigating.
In another accident, a woman was killed in collision between a van and motorbike on Khara Road.
According to police, Hassan along with his wife was on the way back home from Rawal Jagar on a motorbike. As he reached near Khara Road, a speeding van hit the bike from the front. Resultantly, Hassan’s wife was killed on the spot while he sustained critical injuries and was shifted to hospital. The police launched investigation into the incident.

A man sustained critical injuries after a gas-cylinder blast in Khara village here. He was shifted to hospital where he is being provided treatment.
