Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he was briefed about the current state of security operations in Fata, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Malakand divisions.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, General Bajwa said the army will stand by the tribal people of Fata and work with the government to bring about equitable development across the region.

"Having created conditions for governance and socio-economic reforms, army will stand by our valiant tribals and work with the govt to bring about an equitable development across Fata for peace and prosperity in the entire region," said the army chief.

General Bajwa also reviewed progress towards border management and emphasised early return of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs), said the ISPR statement.
