LAHORE-Hussain Hamid of Royal Palm Golf Club captured the 2nd All-Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Amateur Golf Championship title here at the Lahore Gymkhana golf course on Sunday.

The prestigious event was sponsored by Schneider Electric and CNS Engineers. A total of 104 amateurs featured in the three-day activity but it was young Hussain, who prevailed over his nearest rivals to secure the top prize beating Isfandyar Khan by one stroke and Farhan Bhatti by three strokes.

Hussain managed an aggregate of net 139, five under par while runner-up Isfandyar’s net score was 140 and Farhan Bhatti came third with a net score of 142. In the gross segment, M Rehman of Royal Palm was the winner with the gross score of 149 while Mohsen Zafar of Gymkhana came second and Ahmed Baig of Garrison ended up third.

At the conclusion of the championship, the prizes were awarded to the top performers by Maj Gen M Tahir, HI and HI (M), Adviser Security and Intelligence, in a grand prize distribution attended by Mian Misbahur Rehman, Agha Ali Imam, Zahid Nabi Malik, Najam Hafeez (CNS Engineering), Muneeb Khawaja(Schneider Electric), participating golfers and families.
