Islamabad - Islamabad police have chalked out an elaborate security plan for the procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 12th Rabi ul Awal (today) and strict patrolling will be ensured during processions and other religious gatherings in the city.

A total of 2000 cops including 300 traffic cops will perform security duties on the occasion while special teams of Rangers, CID and Special Branch police will assist in smooth performance of their duties. According to the plan, Islamabad police, Rangers and personnel of other law enforcement agencies will perform patrolling and security duties on this occasion and main procession starting from Sector G-7 will be completely cordoned off through heavy deployment.

Procession will be carried out from sector G-7 (Sitara Market) and culminate near shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Mehmud at Aabpara Market after passing through various routes in the city.

The route of the procession has been divided into four sectors and four SPs, seven DSPs and 22 inspectors will lead security duties and monitor the security arrangements in various sectors.

The SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and other police officials will visit the route of processions and ensure effective coordination among the security personnel. Senior police officials will guide the cops and boost their morale in accomplishing duties in a responsible manner.

On the other hand, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has also devised a special plan for smooth traffic flow and to avoid inconvenience to the road-users.

Close liaison will be maintained with organizers of processions and other gatherings in the city. Walk through gates will be installed at all the entry points of procession and metal detectors will be used for checking of the participants. 

Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) will be celebrated with religious zeal and fervour across the country on Monday. The day will dawn with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes in all provincial capitals to pay homage to the last Prophet [SAW].

It is a public holiday today. Special conferences, events and mahafil-e-naat have been arranged to pay respect to the last messenger whose whole life and teachings are beacon of light for humanity. Seerat Conferences will also be organized at the provincial headquarters and other main cities and towns. The Milad celebrations will be in full swing right from Fajr with special prayers at mosques, religious seminaries and other Mahafil to be held in this regard. Speakers will highlight various aspects of `Uswa-e-Hasna’, the sacred life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The route of the procession has already been profusely decorated with buntings and banners besides setting up welcome stages at different points on the route. Rose-petals would also be showered on the participants of the procession.

Mosques, Public and private buildings, markets, houses, roads and streets have also been decorated in tasteful manner. Various other Milad processions will also join the main processions at different places of the route. On this occasion, special prayers will be offered for unity of Muslim Ummah, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

3200 cops to guard processions in Pindi dist

Police have finalized security plan and would ensure foolproof security of all the processions being taken out in the district on occasion of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), informed a police spokesman on Saturday.

The security plan was prepared following the instructions of City Police Officer (CPO), Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi and SSP (Operations), Irfan Tariq Khan, he said.

According to him, some 3200 police jawans and officers would be deputed across the district to guard the processions of Eid.

He added the main procession would be guarded by 1200 cops and police officers. Police would also be assisted by traffic wardens, Muhafiz Force, Punjab Constabulary, Elite Force, Special Branch, ladies police and volunteers to ensure the security.

Moreover, the elected representatives of Anjuman-e-Tajran, members of district peace committees and milad committees would also assist police force.

He said all the routes of main procession would be checked with the help of bomb disposal squad and special branch to avert any threat of terrorism.
