15 babus promoted to top grade

ISLAMABAD - Chairing a meeting of selection board, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Monday approved the promotions of 15 officials to grade-22. The meeting reviewed the cases of more than 100 grade-21 officials from different services groups.

Sources said the meeting discussed 61-officer panel from Pakistan Administrative Service against 11 seats of grade-22, 22-officer panel of Police Service of Pakistan against two seats, two-officer panel of Information Group against one seat and 17-officer panel from Secretariat Group against two posts.

They said the board had deferred the promotion cases of Information Group due to ongoing court case of most senior officer and former principle information officer Rao Tehseen Ali Khan. The second most senior officers of Information Group Sheraz Latif will be retired by month end.

The sources revealed that the eight officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service – Babar Bharwana, Dr Jahanzeb, Fawad Hassan Fawad, Jalala Sikandar, Shoib Mir Memon, Rizwan Ahmed Malik, Jawad Rafique, Rizwan Ahmed and Tahir Sarfraz – have been promoted to grade-22.

Similarly, two officers of the PSP Bashir Memon and Khaliq Dad Luk and two officers of the Secretariat Group Pervaiz Junejo and Noor Ahmed have also been promoted to the top grade. The board has promoted one officer of the Pakistan Foreign Service Shah Jamal.

Sources said eight officers, who are batch mate of Fawad Hassan Fawad promoted to next grades.

According to documents available with The Nation, the name of Secretary to PM Fawad Hassan Fawad was on 33th position in the PAS panel and Establishment Division Secretary Mian Asad Hayyuddin on 25th. But, the establishment division secretary could not be promoted due to incompletion of two-year period in grade-21.

On December 7, the federal government has also sent the panels of grade-21 officers to the National Accountability Bureau for getting clearance.

Additional Secretary of Establishment Division Afzal Latif has sent the panels of grade 21 officers of different services groups on December 7, to NAB Deputy Chairman with request to inform of their track record and the bureau deputy chief marked the letter to different departments on December 8 with directives to give their feedback on an urgent basis.

The names of these officers are Nimat Ullah Khan, Abdus Subhan, Syed Tahir Raza Naqvi, Teppu Mehbat Khan, Aftab Habib, Amir Tariq Zaman Khan, Muhammad Rashid, Sohail Akbar Shah, Muhammad Aftab, Dr Hamad Uwais Agha, Altaf Ezid Khan, Allah Baksh, Muhammad Misbah, Mukhtar Hussain, Malik Tahir Sarfraz Awan, Shabbir Ahmed, Allamuddin Bullo, Syed Haider Ali, Rizwan Malik, Imran Ahmed, Muhammad Ashraf, Jamil Ahmed, Shiekh Ziaul Haq, Muhammad Hashim Tareen,  Mian Asad Hayauddin, Shoib Mir Memon, Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, Jalal Sikandar Sultan, Babar Hussain Barwana, Tahir Hussain, Jawad Rafique Malik, Muhammad Khan, Fawad Hassan Fawad, Ahmed Hamid Orakzai, Muhammad Saqib Aziz, Shamsoddin Somro, Iqbal Hussain Durrani, Ijaz Munir, Jamal Nasir, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tariq Najeeb Nijmi, Dr Amir Ahmed, Nasim Nawaz, Ajaz Ahmed, Mohammad Azam, Omer Rasul, Mohammad Aslam, Hasan Nasir Jamy, Mohammad Ajmal Khan, Syed Pervaiz Abbas, Habibur Rehman Gilani, Mohammad Fahim and Pervez Ahmed Khan.
