House servants held for looting tenants

ISLAMABAD - Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police has arrested two men for their alleged involvement in looting valuables from the houses they were employed at, a police spokesman said on Monday.

He said that SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani assigned special task to SP (investigation) to ensure arrests of those involved in looting various houses. He constituted a special team which managed to arrest the house servants who used to loot houses after getting jobs there.

Police have obtained their remand from the concerned court while looted valuables including cash and 22 mobile phones have been recovered from them. They have been identified as Naveed Awan and Behram Shehzad and confessed to looting houses in the areas of Sihala and Ghori Town Police Stations.

Meanwhile, Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad police has busted a gang or bike-lifters and recovered six motorbikes and weapons from their possession. SSP Sajid Kiani, after few complaints, had assigned special task to SP (Investigation) to constitute teams for arrest of bike-lifters. Following his directions, special teams started efforts to arrest the car-lifters. One of the teams nabbed two bike-lifters identified as Arsalan and Ilyas, besides recovering six bikes from them. They have confessed to lifting a total of nine bikes from various parts of the city while further investigation is underway.
