PR plans 14 trains between Sialkot, Wazirabad

SIALKOT-Pakistan Railways has decided to run 14 local trains between Pasrur, Sambrial and Wazirabad in active collaboration with a private company.
These 14 stations have been deserted for the last several years. According to the senior PR officials, the PR and the private company would restore the deserted railway stations including Sohawa, Begowala, Sambrial, Saahowala, Uggoki, Sialkot, Naseerabad, Gunnah Kalan, Alhar, Chawinda and Pasrur. It will establish two flag stations at Adalatgarha and Talwara Mughalaan-Sialkot.
Later, the PR and a private company will jointly run the proposed trains from Sialkot junction railway station to Pasrur and from Sialkot to Wazirabad via Sambrial. Each of these trains would carry 1,800 passengers.
These local trains will be carrying Wi-Fi and canteen facilities. These trains will start formal running from Sialkot Junction Railway station from January 01, 2018.
The PR officials added that these local trains will have eight bogies each to facilitate the local people.
The old people and children under the age of 10 years will have the free of cost journey facilities while the students will get 50 percent special discount.
Meanwhile, the concerned officials of the PR have started rehabilitation work of the railway stations lying deserted for years.
The Pakistan Railways project of starting 14 local trains would facilitate more than 4 million population of Sialkot district by providing them with the improved railway journey facilities.
The PR officials added that all the necessary arrangements have also been finalised by the Pakistan Railways and the private company.

He said that the police also traced out 80 cases of dacoity and robbery in Sialkot district recovering the looted and stolen valuables including cattle worth Rs1 million from these suspects.
He added that the police also recovered 91 illicit pistols, one Kalashnikov, eight rifles, three revolvers 927 bullets from these accused during this crackdown against them launched in Sialkot district. He narrated that the police also recovered 45kg Charas and 6kg heroin, unearthed one working distillery, arrested 23 drunk men and recovered 23 bottles of wine from the drug traffickers during a crackdown.
