The 15-year reign of Faisal Saleh Hayat has come to a halt after the election for the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) president was won by the Peshawar District Football Association (DFA) President Ashfaq Hussain Shah.
Amir Dogar, Sardar Naveed Haider and Zahir Ali Shah were elected as the vice-presidents of PFF. A mechanical engineer by profession, Ashfaq Hussain Shah received 17 votes out of a total of 20.
After the Supreme Court of Pakistan order the holding of an election for several posts of the PFF, the election process was finally carried out. The election took place inside the Supreme Court’s building in Islamabad.
Hayat and his team did not appear to cast their votes, while Sindh and Balochistan Football Federations also did not take part in the election process.
