The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has warned that the National Assembly (NA) would not function if production orders of the party leader Saad Rafique were not issued.
During the parliamentary session under the chair of PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday, the party strongly condemned the arrested of party leader Saad Rafique and his brother.
They alleged that the ‘NAB-Niazi nexus’ was perpetrating vindictive acts which were undermining law and transparency in legal system. “The NAB and government were using political opponents,” said the party leaders, adding that this attitude was leading Pakistan towards financial danger.
The PML-N leaders said that Hamza Shehbaz being added to the blacklist without any reason and inquiry against Marriyum Aurangzeb raised question on the law. Shehbaz Sharif said that the Finance Minister Asad Umar has admitted that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a transparent project.
The former chief minister said that the National Accountability Bureau will keep probing and they will not find any dishonesty. “Even the NAB officials have acknowledged that the PML-N government overcame power crisis,” he said.
The current government brought worst form of unemployment and inflation for the public, said Shehbaz Sharif. The government and opposition traded barbs over the arrest of Khawaja Saad Rafique and the NAB during a heated National Assembly session.
Speaking on the floor, former prime minister and PML-N MNA Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said party members are ready if NAB is going to be used to pressurize the opposition.
