Shoaib stuns Aqeel in Federal Cup Tennis men’s singles final

LAHORE   -  Twenty-year-old third seed Muhammad Shoaib of PAF stunned top seed Aqeel Khan in a thrilling men’s singles final while Sarah Mehboob beat Ushna Suhail in ladies’ singles final in the 34th Federal Cup National Ranking Tennis Championship that concluded at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad. According to information made available here, Shoaib upset Aqeel in a thrilling and see-saw men’s singles final 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, which lasted over 2 hours. It was double delight for Muhammad Shoaib, who, partnering with Barkatullah, won the men’s doubles title as well as they beat Yousaf Khalil/Heera Ashiq 5-7, 6-2, 10-6. Earlier in the ladies’ singles final, Sarah Mahboob beat Ushna Suhail in a 3-set thriller 7-5, 5-7, 6-4. Sarah was awarded a cash award of Rs 40,000 whereas Ushna pocketed Rs 24,000.
