ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Peoples Party expelled Dr. Israr Shah from the party and his basic membership of the party was also cancelled for continuously violating the party discipline by issuing statements and working against the party interests. According to the notification issued by Central Media Secretariat of the party the basic membership of Dr. Israr Shah was cancelled and he was expelled from the party on violating the party discipline. It is pertinent to mention here that earlier Dr. Israr Shahs membership of Central Executive Council of the party was cancelled when he wrote a letter against Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan. Sources in the party informed that this time Dr. Shah had written a letter to Prime Minister Gilani asking him to step down in the face of serious corruption allegations on some of his family members including his son. He had circulated the copies of the letter to all the members of the CEC and also dispatched it to all the party MPs in the Parliament. Taking notice of this violation of discipline on part of Dr. Shah the party leadership expelled him from the party. It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Shah had served as advisor to Ms Benazir Bhutto in her second stint as prime minister in the nineties.
