The leaders of Difa-e-Pakistan council have vowed every sacrifice to preserve and uphold sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. Addressing ‘Defence of Pakistan’ conference in Karachi on Sunday Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hassan said free and fair elections could not be held in the presence of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. He said that they would continue their effort to bring back Dr Aafia Saddiqui. Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed has said that they will not allow the government to reopen the Nato supply routes. Ahmed said India was blackmailing Pakistan on Kashmir issue. He said US was facing defeat in Afghanistan that was why American targeting Pakistan.  He said that the council will besiege parliament on February 20 to protest against any decision related to reopening Nato supply routes. The conference was also addressed by Maulana Samiul Haq, former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Hameed Gul, former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Chief of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) Ahmed Ludhianvi, Ejazul Haq, among many others.
