ISLAMABAD - Islamabad and Karachi Zone B completed the semi-final line-up of the National Under-14 Football Championship with easy victories at Pakistan Sports Complex here on Saturday.

In the first quarterfinal played at Jinnah Stadium between Islamabad and Nowshera Zone, Islamabad recorded a superb 2-0 victory over their far superior opponents in an almost one-sided affair.

Although a tough fight was expected from Nowshera side who remained unbeaten in the group matches, but to the credit of Islamabad young guns they never allowed Nowshera boys to settle down right throughout the match. Both goals of Islamabad came in first half through Hussain Mehmood in 22nd minute Behlol in 38th minute.

In the second quarterfinal of the day played at Outer Football ground between Karachi Zone B and Balochistan, Karachi remained upto their favourite tag and won easily 3-1.

Both teams failed to score in the first half and it was Karachi’s striker Safeer finally broke the deadlock in the 51st minute. Karachi's advantage was doubled in the 53rd minute when Shahid scored from a close range to give his side a commanding 2-0 lead. Balochistan rduced the lead in the 66th minute through Hammad. Karachi forward Shahid who scored his second and team’s last goal in the 73rd minute to restore the two goals lead.

On Monday, the first semi-final will be played between Islamabad and Punjab while Sindh and Karachi Zone B will be in action in the second semi-final.
