RAHIM YAR KHAN - The Punjab Forest Department Saturday received 430 deer as a gift from Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Palace located in the district.

Reportedly, the male and female deer including the breeds of Chinkara and Black Buck have been sent to Lal Suhnara National Park. The total number of deer has reached 502 as there were already 72 deer in the park.

Divisional Forest Officer Mian Fida Hussain told the media that the park administration has made special arrangements for the safety of these deer as 14 guards have been deployed to keep a vigilant eye around-the-clock. Vehicles have also been provided to the guards in this regard, he added.

PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif during his recent visit of Bahawalpur also visited the park and checked the safety measure for these deer. Punjab Forest Secretary Shah Nawaz gave the detail briefing to Nawaz Sharif.
