RAWALPINDI - Civil Judge and Area Magistrate Sheikh Muhammad Habib Ullah on Saturday extended physical remand of Mian Khurram Rasool for four days in a fraud case of about Rs 1 million.

According to details, Mian Khurram Rasool was produced by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials before the court after ending his three-day remand. The investigation officer of FIA apprised the court that earlier the agency had got three day physical remand of the accused to recover the money and passports, he (Khurram) took fraudulently from nine persons to send them for Haj, but it could not be recovered so far, therefore, the court should grand eight day more physical remand of the accused.

But Civil Judge Sheikh Muhammad Habib Ullah extended physical remand of Mian Khurram Rasool for four days and directed the FIA to produce the accused before the court on 15 February for further proceeding.

It is pertinent to mention here that a new first information report (FIR), 06/2012, was filed against Mian Khurran Rasool on the complaint of a citizen Agha Mujeeb Ahmed on 7/2/2012 under sections 406, 420, 468, 471 and 109 of Pakistan Penal Court (PPCr) with 6 Passport Act.

 The complainant in his application told FIA that he along with other 8 persons gave Khurram Rasool Rs 9, 45000 (Rs 10, 5000 each) and passports for sending them to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Haj. However, later Khurram confiscated the passports of all nine persons and did not send them on Haj.
