OKARA - A B.com student was killed while other relatives were injured during a dacoity at Fateh Noor Town here. Later, the local residents caught one of the robbers and tried to set him ablaze but the police foiled the bid. Then protesters chanted anti-police slogans.
Earlier, five dacoits barged into the house of Malik Mohammad Arshad. For putting up resistance, the dacoits opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, Malik Arshad, Ali Raza, Shabbir Hussain and Shazia were seriously injured. They were all shifted to DHQ Hospital Okara. However, Ali Raza, a student of B.Com, breathed his last on his way to Lahore. Nevertheless, the police took the dacoit into custody and shifted him to some unknown place. Thereafter the residents took out a procession. They chanted slogans against police.
BIKE SNATCHED: Two armed motorcyclists snatched motorcycle and cash money. Ali, a resident of 32/2 was proceeding to 32/2.R from Okara by his bike (4085/OKL). On his way, 3 outlaws intercepted him and snatched his bike, 3 mobiles and Rs20,000.
SHOP LOOTED: Three armed men looted a shop on the GT Road. They snatched cash and a motorcycle. The resident of Garden Town, Mirza Naeem, was at his shop when the robbers stormed into his shop.
DEALER RANSACKED: Four armed men barged into the house of a property dealer and looted gold ornaments, mobiles and cash in Ayub Park.
The robbers barged into the house of Chaudhary Mohammad Afzal and held the family at gunpoint. They snatched 20 tolas of gold ornaments, five mobiles and cash.
