SARGODHA -The Anti-Terrorism Court handed down capital punishment to an accused on 10 counts and acquitted 10 co-accused in a murder case of eight persons.

According to the prosecution, eight persons including four women were gunned down in village 6/NB Bhalwal on August 21, 2012 (Eidul Fitar night) over a property dispute. Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Peer Muhammad pronounced verdict on the case and sentenced the accused namely Afsar Khan to death on eight counts while acquitted 10 co-accused, giving them the benefit of the doubt. According to police sources, three more accused of the case had been killed in a shootout with the police and one breathed his last in jail due to illness.
