The city, adjoining towns and villages have experiencing worst sui gas loadshedding for the past two days, causing a lot of hardships and inconvenience particularly to housewives who find it hard to cook meals for their families.

Moreover, electricity supply also remained suspended for more than 12 hours on Monday and Tuesday as a result of which business activities were badly affected. The worst affected were small shopkeepers and powerloom workers. They have called upon the Gepco authorities to take pity on them and ensure uninterrupted power supply in the city to enable them to make their bread and butter peacefully.

Meanwhile, the dwellers of Rehmanpura Ali Chowk Bypass have protested against the attitude of Gepco Hafizabad for not replacing burnt transformer for the past three months despite numerous requests and protests, causing them a lot of hardships and inconvenience.

They warned that if the transformer was not replaced within three days they would be constrained to stage a sit-in in front of XEN Office on Gujranwala Road and would block the road to vent their anger.

CRACKDOWN: DCO Mansoor Qadir and ADC Safeena Siddique directed the officials of TMAs Pindi Bhattian and Hafizabad to launch crackdowns on shopkeepers selling substandard ghee/oil as well as those bakeries, sweets shop and restaurant owners found preparing the foodstuff and meals by using substandard ghee/oil in the area.

They also directed that strict legal action should also be taken against illegal LPG agencies.
