LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the work on land record computerisation has almost been completed and it will eliminate patwari culture.

He was addressing a high level meeting regarding land record management & information system, here yesterday. The chief minister also gave approval to the recruitment of more staff for the project.

The chief minister said that this important step of Punjab government is the milestone in the elimination of corruption and provision of best facilities to the masses.

He said that the modern land record management and information system has been launched in all tehsils of the province. He said that services centers in 143 tehsils of Punjab are fully operational and providing services to the masses.

He said that computerisation of land is a historic achievement of Punjab government. He said that due to computerization of land, patwar culture has been eliminated and lakhs of people are benefitting.

He said that land record management & information system has made it possible to obtain ‘fard’ and complete the process of transfer of land within minutes. He said that online monitoring dashboard system has also been evolved and its continuity is of the vital importance.

The chief minister directed that an autonomous and independent authority should be set up at the earliest for the implementation of the project in future and final recommendations be presented after evolving a comprehensive framework for computerisation of urban land record.

Shahbaz Sharif directed that the service centers should remain operational from morning till late night so that maximum facilities could be available to the people with regard to obtaining documents of their land.

He said that there is no room for corrupt and inefficient staff in this project and besides departmental action, cases should also be sent against such elements to anti-corruption.

HEALTHCARE PRIORITY: A delegation of College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) met Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The chief minister while talking on the occasion said that reforms of revolutionary nature have been introduced for the provision of quality public health facilities as improvement of health services system is the priority of the government.

He said that Provincial government has given the biggest budget of the history of the province for health sector for the purpose of provision of modern and quality health facilities to the citizens.

Shahbaz Sharif said that field of research and development is the vital importance for the provision of quality medical facilities. He said that there is a need to pay special attention for the training of doctors, new courses and specialization for extending modern treatment facilities to the masses.

He issued instructions for setting up a committee for sending recommendations with regard to doctors’ training, modern courses, specialization. The Chief Minister said that there is a need for keeping machinery functional for providing quality treatment facilities to the patients in hospitals.

Separately, a representative delegation of Overseas Pakistanis led by President Pakistan Muslim League-N Middle East Ch Noorul Hassan Tanvir met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said that service to the people is the pivot of politics of PML-N and revolutionary programmes have been started for the welfare of the people and raising the living standard of the masses.

He said that Punjab government has set up Overseas Pakistanis Commission for resolving the problems of overseas Pakistanis. He said that Overseas Pakistani Commission is completely independent and autonomous institution and is playing an active role for immediate resolution of the problems of overseas Pakistanis in Punjab.

He said that the dream of Quaid-e-Azam will be realized for making Pakistan a peaceful and safe country in the real sense.
