Rawalpindi - The regional police officer, Rawalpindi has directed the city police officer to remove Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Sadiqabad Malik Allah Yar from his office immediately for his alleged involvement in high-level corruption and harbouring criminals and gangsters, reliable sources disclosed to The Nation yesterday.

According to sources, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja wrote a letter to CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi directing him to suspend and close to Police Line SHO Malik Allah Yar for his involvement in corruption and having links with gangsters and criminals in the area.

Sources added that RPO had also strictly directed the CPO to bring the two SHOs and officials of police stations Sadiqabad and New Town circle in his scanner since complaints against them were continuously pouring into office of regional police chief. Unfortunately, no such move was made by the CPO office so far, said sources. The top police boss also ordered the CPO to appoint any competent and honest officer at his place in Sadiqabad, they said. In the letter, copy of which was also available with The Nation, mentioned that it was reliably learnt that Inspector Allah was highly corrupt, inefficient and involved in high-level corrupt practices.

“Malik is patronising the hardcore criminals for ulterior motives with mala fide intentions,” the letter reads further that was wrote to CPO on February 9, 2016. The letter said that SHO Malik Allah Yar was also warned in January to part his ways with criminals but all the warnings seemed to fall on deaf ears. “Several quarters are still tabling complaints against the inspector,” the letter reads. Interestingly, SHO Malik Allah Yar was sent on leave for two months instead of showing him the doors, sources said.

CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi when approached by The Nation for his official version said, “I don’t think so that he was involved in high-level corruption. He was one of the most competent SHOs of Rawalpindi.” He said that Malik had solved some of the most important cases such as murder case of judge Tahir Khan Niazi besides busting high profile gangs. “He is simply an outstanding officer,” claimed CPO.

He said that Malik had some domestic problems as his wife was seriously ill therefore he requested for two months leave. “In his place, a new SHO is appointed,” asserted Israr Abbasi. RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja was not available for his comments.
